UGC
UGC is user (you) generated content! this means that you the creator make content for brands to post on their socials. Anyone can do it, even if you have no social media following. It all about experience and creativity with a camera and product.
I am an micro influencer on tiktok so I have been fortunate enough to work with lots of brands and collaborate. Collaboration means that I post the content I make on my own feed. Sometimes this can cause inconsistencies in my feed and drive people away. The problem with collaboration is that brands usually don’t pay to post on your feed. How do I make money off social media? It seems that everyone else is? This is when I got interested in UGC.

If you are still confused on what exactly you would be creating here are a few examples!
UGC can consist of both aesthetic pictures and videos. So if you have a phone you can start looking for brands you love in your house and having a photoshoot.
Fun fact: you never have to post yourself or family in your content!
This is a information video, telling all about the product using a voice over.
Content need to start with a CTA ( call to action) Starting out with a relatable question captures attention.
Fun fact: they brand will send you the product for
free or will pay you to receive it!
You can also post unboxings, review, testimonials or informational.
How to Get Started
The first thing you want to do before pitching to brands is to make a website or media kit. This is to share your work and your desire to work with them. It like a resume!
First go to Canva and search for UGC media or website. Select your favourite style and start with a “all about me” page. Who are you? What niche are you?
Next you want to show the brand examples, use the elements in Canva, select the phone and drop the video you want in. If you haven’t worked with brands just make videos with products you have around the house.
Include your prices for the different socials and make bundles so you can upsell yourself.
when you first start out I suggestaccepting 3-10 gifted first to bulid your self first. After that start at 100 per post.
Lastly you want all of your contact information
and when you are available to start!
Next Steps
The next step is to start pitching to brands. You will want to start DMing on instagram and also look for UGC opportunities on Twitter. I suggest you pitch to atleast 3-5 brands every day. That will be over 100 in a month and the probability to land at least 5 with be much higher!
Example beginner pitch goes like this:
Hey, (brand)! Quick question?
I'm Celeste. I'm a UGC creator based in New Brunswick Canada! I'm reaching out to you because I'd love to create UGC content for your brand!
Is there a specific email I can contact to discuss how I can best serve your brand?
I look forward to connecting!
Other websites to get started, but usually require 1k following are: AspireIQ, Fiver, insense and shopify collabs.
